What is the "Eupsychia Process"?
Eupsychia's Process (also called "Integrative Breathwork") was developed by Jacquelyn Small,
MSSW, Eupsychia's founder. It is one modality of the relatively new field of Transpersonal Psychology. Transpersonal
Psychology's name comes from including things "across" or "beyond" the usual clinical view of a person (the physical, intellectual
and emotional aspects of a person). Typically this means that the spiritual side is included and validated as part of the
person's Being, as well as an integral part of any therapeutic process.
A core belief of this process is that each of us has an Inner Wisdom that is aware of the level
and type of healing that the person needs at that particular time. So what happens could be physical, emotional, intellectual
or spiritual – or any combination of the four.
Eupsychia's Integrative Breathwork process consists of:
- Creating sacred space in a group setting
- The accessing of alternate states of consciousness by a relaxation exercise followed by deep, core
breathing
- A personal inner journey that is facilitated by 60 to 90 minutes of a wide variety of evocative musical
pieces
- Artwork
- Group sharing
Many people find that these workshops help them become aware of unconscious patterns that affect
their quality of life. What happens is very unique to each individual - Susan does not guide the process in any way. Actually,
the music serves as the "guide", allowing for memories, emotions, insights, and even physical responses and improvements to
take place in 60 to 90 minutes of one's personal "journey".
